Every night I would go to bed hoping the next morning would be different…

It was not.

I was tormented by the thought that “I” was missing something.

That somehow I was “less than” because I couldn’t get my life in order… 

I was overwhelmed and stressed…

I was the Queen of disappearing time…

I was always rushing and running late…

So much so that I was the reason my kiddos were dropped off late to school and counted as tardy.

This is how I got the nickname ladybug … LAT-E bug.

What’s worse, I wasn’t sure where to start looking for answers.

I found myself wandering bookstores hoping the right self-help book would call me over saying, “Here Holly!  The answers you’ve been looking for are right here!”

Nothing worked…

But I was determined to find a better way, to get a handle on my time…

And I immediately knew I wasn’t alone with my struggles. 

Common themes ran through every article I read and every story I heard…

Overwhelm…
Stress…
The struggle for perfection…
The overly scheduled days…
The ridiculously high expectations no one couldn’t possibly meet…
The thick, underlying current of frustration…
The pain–the missing pieces–were strikingly similar.
The traditional time management solutions always fell short…
Just begin your day with focus, eliminate distractions, block your time, write out your priorities, stop procrastinating…

All temporary and fleeting.

But throughout my quest, one psychological point emerged time and time again.

So much so, I started to build my thought process around it…

Believe it or not, it was summed up best by Dr. Phil’s book,  Life Strategies. Doing What Works. Doing What Matters.

What stopped me in my tracks was Life Law #2: “You Create Your Own Experience”.

This simplistic concept made me stop and look at what I was doing through a completely different lens…

I was astounded… 

And that one Ah Ha made all the difference.

Right then and there I decided, no more drifting…

No more dragging myself through another exhausting day…

No longer would I allow myself to be a victim of life’s circumstances…

No one was coming to my rescue… It was all on me.

And the thing is, all of us are so close to this solution but just can’t see it.

On the surface, the problem always looks like too little time, too much to do.

Along with all the feelings I just went through.

But here’s the thing… that’s not where you fix it.

These are just symptoms…

We all know plenty of moms who have the organization thing down, but they’re still stressed out and struggling!

I didn’t need to be better organized…

I didn’t need to do more in less time…

I didn’t need another day planner…

As if all my problems could be fixed by following someone else’s perfect morning schedule. 

I don’t think so…

With this new perspective in place, at least now I felt like I was making progress.

So I dove deeper into the research…

I started studying psychology and human behavior.

I felt like I had 99% of the solution, but…

Something was still missing.

Like an imaginative, impassible wall.

Everything I came across kept tracing back to the same thing.

It was all tied into how I mentally approached my day.

I even gave it a name.

I called it my “Steady Struggle”…

It was like I didn’t have my mindset in the right place BEFORE my day even started…

I continually talked myself out of things…

Putting off making any real progress to another day…

Every morning, I couldn’t shake that I felt like I was behind before I even finished my first cup of coffee …

My thoughts kept questioning if I could really do this… could I really dictate my own circumstances…

I learned the hard way that bad stuff happens when I ignored the Steady Struggle

I pushed on…

Studying my own habits and the habits of the Moms who were already where I wanted to be… 

Slowly things started to form an answer…like the pieces of a puzzle magically coming together instead of floating away…

If my mental approach to each day was flawed from the start, how could I possibly expect to feel good about anything that happened to me?

I was doomed before my feet hit the floor each morning…

It made complete sense…

If I intended to fix my messy morning, I had to go back to the beginning.

Afterall, mindset is everything!

I tried following some of the highly touted programs out there. 

Meditation…

Affirmations…

Vision boards…

I even took online courses intended to makeover my mindset…

While some of these solutions had strong points and helped me make sense of where my life was now, nothing stuck for any length of time.

And then, like clockwork, my struggles came roaring back with a vengeance!

Very quickly I realized I would have to build a solution from scratch.

After all, by now, I had studied about every expert and analyzed every program…

I could do this.

I knew the answer had to combine changes to my mindset and my approach to each day working in unison… 

The more I studied tiny habits and daily routines, the more fascinated I became.

This was the end of relying on will power and motivation…

Many of the greatest minds of our time swear by this process…

Olympic and professional athletes operating on the cutting edge of performance rely upon it…

The most powerful men and women in the business community would be lost without it…

By the time I was done with my research, I was able to pinpoint the singular daily habit that brought all my self-doubt and uncertainty to a halt.

But it would take “disruption” to make it real.

What does this mean?

For all our complexity, at our core humans are very simple creatures.

And we LOVE patterns.

From the daily routes we travel, to the food we buy, the food we eat, to the clothes we wear, the shows we watch…

We love patterns.

Even if these patterns are causing us tremendous pain….

We stick with them.

Call them rituals if you prefer.

Healthy or not, they provide us comfort in an unstable world.

Only by disrupting our daily patterns can we “plug in” new outcomes!

If your daily mindset and routine are failing you, does it make sense to continue down the same path hoping for a better result?

Of course not.

Wishful thinking is not a viable game plan.

Not anymore…

Here’s the reality, according to research, everyone—and this means everyone—who successfully makes a dramatic change in their life or achieves a significant goal, does so by taking control of their morning “programming”.

Here’s a quote from a recent Medium article by Sinem Gunel talking about the habits of high performers…

“1. They win the morning.

High performers know how critical the first hours of their days are. They are aware of the power of a proper morning routine and create one that supports their lifestyle. They don’t leave the success of their day to chance but instead take control of it.”

Author Daniel Handler may have said it best…

“Morning is an important time of day because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.”

But it takes a conscious disruption of your existing ingrained habits to do it…

And as it turns out, once we identify our existing patterns and rituals, plugging in a new “program” is a lot easier than it sounds!

With this knowledge in hand and after plenty of false starts and trial and error, I finally had the proper sequence in hand.

I was able to crush my “Steady Struggle”, change my morning mindset, and finally take control of my day!

This is how the “Love Your Morning Breakthrough” was born.

Here’s how the 30-Day “Love Your Morning Breakthrough” works…

I thought it would be easier to spell out the powerful change you’ll experience just within the first 5 days…

So, here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect as soon as you start:

Day One: Sunrise Snapshot

Your breakthrough begins by taking a closer look at what’s making your morning so messy. The crucial components of your current routine will be uncovered.

This is your ‘before snapshot’. 

 Just like when you set a weight loss goal – you must establish a starting point. 

Taking back your time begins with owning where you are now. Seeing and being honest about it will help you determine where you want to go.
